Summit Soap is a grassroots company dedicated to being different, responsible, and caring for our local community. We recognize that the only way to generate change and progress in this world is to embody the difference that we would like to see. In light of this we are creating soaps as a tangible representation of these values.
We make our soaps in beautiful Breckenridge, Colorado, a Rocky Mountain community 9,600 feet above sea level! A place where resources are especially limited and space is exceedingly precious. It's tougher to notice for some, but the same goes for the entire world. This is why our local sustainable business hinges entirely on the concepts of reducing, reusing and recycling.
Our soaps are made using purified recycled?! cooking oil, a resource that has been overlooked and treated as waste throughout the history of commercial eateries. We really enjoy using a local resource to create a local product, in effect "closing the loop". A closed loop system is an essential element of large scale sustainability.
Packaging is also a major part of our sustainability focus. We strive to use no packaging at all, but when we must we use only recycled paper products. We love hearing new ideas about eliminating, reducing, or re-using packaging so please don't hesitate to share!
